Our professional staff and clinic serves the needs of people who suffer from chronic tinnitus ( a sensation of sound that is heard inside the head, i.e. a high pitched ringing that is purely subjective ) and hyperacusis (unusual intolerance to every day sounds). We offer a complex evaluation for a variety of auditory system defects and disorders, and are adding new techniques, particularly testing for hyperacusis.

Dr. Marsha Johnson, attended the 2nd Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Course with Dr. Pawel Jastreboff in Baltimore, Maryland, in May 1997 when she became a member of Dr. Jastreboff's Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Association (TRTA).

Since that time, she has attended update courses on TRT, learned new applications, and participated in clinical research projects, as well as stepping forward strongly into clinical use of the therapy for hyperacusis.

Her clinic practices state-of-the-art treatment for these troublesome conditions, including Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) developed by Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, Director of the University of Maryland Tinnitus & Hyperacusis Clinic. Since 1997, she has been on the referral list from the American Tinnitus Association, the American Hyperacusis Association, and the Vestibular & Equilibrium Disorders Association.

Unlike some other clinics, Marsha concentrates on exclusively providing TRT for hundreds of individuals from all parts of the USA and abroad. She is able to complete complex evaluations in her brand new audiology office, with the latest and most advanced diagnostic equipment, located in NE Portland. For the past seven years, Dr. Johnson has devoted herself to the exclusive areas of tinnitus and hyperacusis. Adhering closely to the original TRT protocol has benefitted hundreds of patients in their tinnitus and hyperacusis recovery.
